Every CarMax used car comes with a limited warranty that covers major systems, including hundreds of parts, and lasts for 90 days or 4,000 miles. The MaxCare extended warranty plan provides protection beyond 90 days or 4,000 miles, covering systems, parts, and labor. In addition to repair coverage, MaxCare offers 24/7 emergency roadside assistance 365 days a year, applicable anywhere in the US or Canada. If the vehicle requires overnight repairs, MaxCare includes rental reimbursement.

A full refund on a MaxCare Plan can be issued by CarMax if canceled within 30 days of the vehicle purchase, provided no claims have been made. After 30 days, a refund is available for a fee. After 90 days, a refund is still possible, but the amount will be determined based on the length of time the car has been owned or the miles driven, whichever is greater.
