Car/Vehicle Headliners Repair at Home

If the user notices any sagging in the Headliners it is recommendable to fix it as soon as possible. Also repairing the sagging Headliners by a professional is a bit expensive. You can do it using the following tips
  • Using Clear-Headed Twist Pins: These pins are also known as saggy stoppers. Twist pins can be easily used to fix a roof lining that is just about to fall off.The good thing about these pins is they do not leave holes on board
  • By Use of Glue: This is the simplest way to reattach lining back to its place. This option works best if the fabric is sagging from the edges. Make sure that the glue used is for attaching car upholstery fabric. Simply spray the glue all over the upper side of the fabric and some on the foam then the fabric with the foam firmly.
  • Steam Cleaner and Paint Roller: A steam cleaner can easily melt the glue so that it can stick back. Use a paint roller with steam cleaner the roller helps to spread the lining on the board without leaving any creases. The point to note is that if the glue is old and dry then this method may not work
  • Sequin Pins: When the Headliner is sagging from the center sequin pins are the best option instead of glue. If half of the headliner lining is falling these pins can push it back easily. However, sequin Pins are not recommended for large areas. After straightening the headliner firmly push the pins through to the foam backing
  • Using a Double-Sided Tape: Double-Sided Tape works simply by sticking it with the roof’s frame and the lining. This tape is preferable for damages on the sides and edges. The user can use it as a temporary repair before going for some other option

Automotive Headliner Hole Repair

  • Take a patch or any cloth of the same color as the headliner of the car and cut out a hole the same size as the damaged spot
  • If the hole is not deep then use a little bit of glue to fill it. If the hole is deep use foam. After that close the hole with fabric glue
