CCS (Child Care Services) Service Center



The Department of Human Services extends childcare services to qualifying children and families through a variety of programs. These programs encompass childcare assistance, early education initiatives, as well as financial and emergency aid. Within the realm of Child Care Services (CSS), the following programs are offered:

  • Child Care Assistance

    Provisioned for up to 9,000 children daily, this assistance program operates through over 600 local childcare centers spread across multiple states. It provides financial aid to parents and families, catering to the needs of children, including education, health, nutrition, and other essentials. Enrollment into the child care assistance program is restricted to eligible members of the community.

  • After School Challenge Program

    Tailored for school-aged children, this program aims to bolster their educational and recreational pursuits. Enrolled children benefit from homework aid, tutoring, and other scholastic support under the supervision of the Department of Human Services.

  • Early Education Program

    Designed to assist low-income families, this program facilitates the enrollment of children into early education programs. Various centers provide comprehensive support to foster the early education initiative.

  • Health Care Services

Eligibility for Child Care Assistance

Child Care Services (CCS) has established eligibility criteria for receiving childcare subsidies and assistance. The childcare service center offers both full and part-time care for families that meet the qualifying criteria. To be eligible for the program, individuals must satisfy the following conditions:

The child must be under 13 years of age, while for children with disabilities, the age criterion extends to under 19 years.
The family's income must not exceed 85% of the state median income.
Children whose parents are enrolled in the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program.
Low-income families registered in need of childcare assistance to enroll their child in school.
Children with disabilities or diagnosed medical conditions.
Children meeting the criteria for homelessness.
