Carilion HR (Human Resources) Service Center is a service department for existing employees and retirees. The service department manages all issues and concerns of the employees. Carilion HR (Human Resources) Service Center is also involved in management services and recruitment process.

The services and benefits operated by the Carilion HR (Human Resources) Service Center include:

• Healthcare Service Benefits: The Carilion Clinic HR service department offers medical plans and benefits to active employee and retirees. All medical benefits are administered by Aetna. The benefit covers all prescribed drugs, eye care and others.
• Dental and Vision Benefits: Full time and part time employees can avail dental treatment coverage by the Delta Dental of Virginia. Vision care benefits are offered by Aetna.
• Retirement Savings Plan: All staff members can apply for the Retirement savings plan and can be used for savings for retirement. The service department offers 403 (b) and 401 (k) plans.
• Pension Plan: The service department offers best pension plans for the eligible employees which is based on the income, age and employment duration. Whole amount of pension plan is contributed by the Carilion HR (Human Resources) and employees do not need to pay any penny.
• Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs): Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) are meant for the employee of the clinic and is used for saving money. The savings are deducted from the paychecks before taxes are paid. These accounts help employees in making savings for the healthcare services for dependents or spouse and children.
• Paid Time Off (PTO): HR department offers Paid Time Off (PTO) to the employees working full time and part-time in Carilion clinics. The staff members can make use of Paid Time Off (PTO) leaves during emergencies like illness, vacations or others.
