It offers direct benefits and helps pay for the health insurance premiums in part or full for eligible members. Masshealth Fee For Service Plan
Fee-for-service or simply FFS is a system or plan through which services are delivered. There are also other delivery systems such as SCO, MCO, PACE, etc. Most customers receive benefits from Masshealth on a fee-for-service basis. Generally, members who have another primary insurance support or are recipients of premium assistance are enrolled in the fee-for-service plan. Members who are ineligible for full managed care are also enrolled in FFS. Medicare members are enrolled in FFS by default but can change to another plan if they wish. Masshealth pays for the benefits that are not covered by Medicare or other insurance on a fee-for-service basis. Most of the services for FFS and PCC Plan members are paid through FFS.
