The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is a food and nutrition assistance service provided by the federal government in the USA. It aims to aid low-income families in accessing food and nutrition through approved retail stores. Eligible low-income individuals and families receive benefits via an Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card, which can be used to purchase food at authorized retailers. Households with elderly (over 60) or disabled members receive a higher amount of credits on their EBT card compared to other eligible cardholders.
