Loan Repayment Assistance

The national loan service center provides repayment assistance. Under the Repayment Assistance Plan (RAP), students can have zero or lowered payments for six months. Disabled students can also apply for a repayment assistance program.

How to Apply of Student Loan?

Students who are eligible for federal loan assistance can readily submit applications for loan programs. There are five stages to complete for obtaining the student loan, which are as follows:
  • Begin application
  • Wait for Notice of Assessment from province/territory
  • Review and accept the MSFAA terms and conditions
  • Submit loan documents
  • Confirm enrolment

Eligibility For Availing Student Loan

The federal government has established eligibility criteria for obtaining a student loan. Eligible students are empowered to receive financial assistance. The eligibility criteria for students in the USA are outlined below:
  • Students must register between the ages of 18 and 25
  • Students must demonstrate financial need for most programs
  • Should be a U.S. citizen or an eligible noncitizen
  • Students must have a valid Social Security number
  • Must be registered with Selective Service
  • Should be enrolled as a regular student in an eligible degree or certificate program
  • Must be enrolled at least half-time to be eligible for Direct Loan Program funds
  • Student must maintain satisfactory academic progress in college or career school
  • Sign the certification statement on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid

Eligibility For Student Loans In Canada
  • Applicant must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada
  • Must be a resident of a province or territory designated to apply for Canada Student Loans Program
  • Applicant should be able to demonstrate financial need
  • An enrolled students with 60% of a full course load if a full-time student
  • Students obtaining degree, diploma or certificate program with a duration of at least 12 weeks
  • 22 years of age or older and applying for the first time then need to pass a credit check
  • Must be able to achieve a satisfactory academic standard in order to keep receiving financial aid.
