My 1952 tissot is one of the first "Automatic" tissot watches sold in the USA. It has been serviced and tells the time with reasonable accuracy. However, it is no longer waterproof. I needed repair of a tissot analogue quartz watch f304 a purchased nov. 1988 at macys. Back says water resistant 30m stainless steel back Mineral crystal. It does not run. Also, the glass face is scratched. I will be glad to send the watch to you for inspection and ball park repair price. I paid $178. 61 for it. If the cost to repair is much higher i would consider purchase of new similar watch that you may suggest since it is a present for my wife.
