Lakewood Community Service Center

The provision of various services and programs geared towards community assistance is facilitated by the Lakewood Community Service Center, a social organization. Individual living standards are improved through the assistance of this social service agency. The primary services and programs offered by the organization are outlined below:

• Food Service

  A range of food service programs is operated by the organization, providing Door-to-Door food services, community kitchen services, and summer meals designed to assist those in need with food and nutrition. Fresh produce, eggs, cheese, protein, and shelf-stable products are delivered to over 500 households from Monday to Friday.

• Housing Assistance

  Assistance with housing needs and shelter is provided to homeless individuals by the service vendor. This includes cash assistance for rent and/or utilities.

• Summer Lunch and Enrichment Program

  The Lakewood Community Service Center (LCSC) administers a summer lunch and enrichment program targeting students in grades K through 5. Enrichment services encompass activities such as bowling at Mahall’s 20 Lanes, swim lessons at Madison Pool, library time at the Lakewood Public Library Madison, and field trips to the Lake Erie Nature Center.

• Mental and Behavioral Health Services

  Services related to mental health are provided by the social organization. These facilities encompass counseling sessions aimed at aiding individuals in understanding, problem-solving, and intervening in addiction/behavioral issues. Counselors assist individuals in coping with stressful events that may trigger a crisis.
